SAGL will conduct research and development aimed at delaying human aging based on the mechanism of dietary energy (calorie) restriction. To this end, SAGL will conduct joint research with research groups at universities and research institutes both in Japan and overseas, hoping to contribute to extending healthy life expectancy in modern aging societies.

Over the past 20 years, about 50 compounds or drugs have been tested for their lifespan-extending effects using mice. Among these, several compounds, including Rapamycin, have been reported to increase lifespan. These compounds have potential for use… Read more: A paper co-authored with Dr. Tomoya Shintani (Toyo Institute of Food Technology, Kawanishi, Hyogo)*has been published in KAGAKU TO SEIBUTSU (Journal of Japan Society for Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Agrochemistry).

- The Interventions Testing Program (ITP) of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) has accepted a proposed research plan to study the lifespan-extending effects of glucosamine.Isao Shimokawa (SAGL, LLC.), Takahiro Hayashida (Hayashida Financial Management) The study of substances that delay aging and extend healthy lifespan is an essential topic in basic aging research, and the NIA-ITP annually solicits proposals from outside researchers to identify substances that extend the lifespan and healthy lifespan of mice. Once an applicant's proposal is accepted,… Read more: The Interventions Testing Program (ITP) of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) has accepted a proposed research plan to study the lifespan-extending effects of glucosamine.
